Today, we'll be taking a look at part number BWBMTT31004, this is the B & W triple tow travel mount for 2 inch hitches. The ball mount with the built in hitch balls is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank is going to slide into the receiver tube of your hitch. You'll need to secure it with a hitch pin and clip, or a hitch pin and lock. Those are going to be sold separately. You can find some options here at etrailer.com.
The one we'll be using for our demonstration today, is part number PC3. It's going to be your standard 5/8th pin that comes with a clip. The shank slides into the hitch, and then the hitch balls are going to provide good connection points for your trailer coupler. It's going to offer three different size hitch balls, to let you tow trailers with different coupler sizes. You're going to have a 1 7/8 inch, 2 inch, and a 2 5/16 ball. To switch between the hitch balls, all you have to do is remove the mount from the hitch, and rotate it to whatever ball you want, facing up, for your towing application, re-insert it, and then re-install with that pin and clip, or hitch pin and lock. It's made from a solid steel construction, with a nice, black powder coated finish on it.
You can see the solid steel right here at the back. It's going to feature a solid shank, so you don't have to worry about the shank being hollow. The only hollow points on this are going to be, where the hitch pin and clip would go at the two locations here on the shank. It does offer two different hitch pin holes. This set back here is going to be for the 1 7/8 inch ball. This set right here is going to be for the 2 inch, and the 2 5/16 inch ball.
It is designed for 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. When using the 1 7/8 inch ball, you're going to get a gross towing weight of 3500 pounds, with a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds. The distance that we have from the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, is going to give us measurement of 8 inches. Again, measuring from that back pin hole location, since thats the one that's going to use the 1 7/8th inch ball. When using the 2 inch ball, you're going to get a gross towing weight of 7500 pounds, with a maximum tongue weight of 750 pounds. The measurement we have from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball is going to be 7 inches.
That's going to be the closer pin hole set. That measurement's going to be the same for the 2 5/16 inch ball. You can see that, we'll take that measurement. Again, center on center, right at 7 inches. When using this 2 5/16th inch ball, your going to have gross towing weight of 10000 pounds, with a tongue weight capacity of 1000 pounds. The overall length is going to give us a measurement of right at 12 inches. The distance that we have from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank, from the rearmost pin hole location, is going to be 2 1/2 inches. Then, back of the shank to the center of the other pin hole set, for the 2 inch and 2 5/16 inch ball, is going to be 3 1/2 inches. I'm going to show you how it installs. Just take the mount, slide it into the receiver tube of our hitch, or push it in until we get our pin holes to line up with one another. Then, we can insert our 5/8th inch pin, that comes with the clip. Again, that's part number PC3. You can find that right here at etrailer.com. That's going to do it for our review of part number BWBMTT31004. This is the B & W triple tow tri ball mount. .

B&W makes a Heavy Duty Tri-Ball Mount...very solid
Solid! Well built.
Hefty, well-made, excellent powder coat. Must weigh about 20 lb. I have not actually used it yet but it fits perfectly into 2 inch hitch receiver. Came about one week earlier than expected. Excellent customer service from trailer.
I bought this product because I needed my trailer to be level behind our motorhome. It is solid stock and the welds looks good. Being made in the USA was important to me also.
Just got this hitch, made in America, fit into my 2” receiver well. Should be fine for towing.
Very heavy duty, solid steel drawbar. Weighs nearly 19 lbs. Plus it's Made in the USA!
